Ashley Green avoided social dos to concentrate on acting career

Zimbabwe Star (ANI) Friday 3rd February, 2012

Ashley Green has revealed that she avoided the Hollywood social scene when she first arrived in Los Angeles, as she feared it would ruin her chances of starring on the big screen.

The 24-year-old dreamed of being an actress when she was growing up in Jacksonville, Florida and she moved to L.A. as a teenager to pursue her goal.

The 'Twilight' star confessed that the "glitz and glamour" of Hollywood almost pulled her into a life of partying but she resisted the temptation to focus on her auditions.

"I was like 'Oh, I can go out and do this and do that,' and it took me about five seconds to realise 'If you do that, you're not going to book jobs, and there are 10,000 girls who want your job'," the Daily Star quoted her as telling Lucky magazine.

"It's all glitz and glamour in Hollywood, and you want to be part of it. And the deadly thing is that you meet people who do have the money and do have fame and are in a position to not spend every waking moment working toward getting a job, and it's easy to feel like you can do it too, when really you haven't earned it.

"You can either socialise or you can study your script, and luckily I learned that pretty quick!" she added. (ANI)

On that day, Mladic began his full participation in a criminal endeavour that was already in progress. On that day, he assumed the mantle of realising through military might the criminal goals of ethnically cleansing much of Bosnia. On that day he commenced his direct involvement in serious international crimes.
