Zimbabwe Star (IANS) Tuesday 7th February, 2012

Pakistan Railways have decided to act against government departments which have encroached upon railway land in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan Railways said it will approach the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against government departments, including the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), to get its land cleared of encroachment in the Rawalpindi division.

Syed Munawar Shah, an official, told Dawn Monday that the departments had been warned to get the railway land under their use vacated, otherwise their cases would be sent to NAB by Feb 28.

The Supreme Court has directed the railway authorities to send to NAB the cases of departments which fail to surrender railway land, he said.
